The First Match
The club's very first match took place at the municipal playing field on Schyrenstraße.
FCB beat 1. Münchner FC 5-2. From 1900 to 1907 the club played in Schwabing at Clemensstraße 50, later moving to Leopoldstraße.
From 1925, FCB played for 47 years at the Grünwalder Stadion — until the end of World War II as tenants of 1860 Munich. The first match at the new Olympiastadion in Munich took place on the final matchday of the 1971/72 season.
Since 1995, FC Bayern has had to share the stadium with 1860 Munich. Bayern's training ground is located in Munich-Giesing on Säbener Straße.
And Now: Fröttmaning
In the run-up to the 2006 World Cup, a new stadium was built on Munich's northern outskirts.
Both FC Bayern and 1860 Munich played at the new arena, which may be used exclusively for football events. FC Bayern München AG and TSV München von 1860 GmbH & Co. KGaA initially held 50% each in the stadium company.
When the Lions ran into financial trouble, they sold their stake to FCB.
Today, 1860 Munich plays once more at the venerable Grünwalder Straße ground. Since 25 May 2012, the Allianz Arena has housed the FC Bayern Erlebniswelt, a multimedia exhibition spanning more than 2,500 square metres with over 400 exhibits from the club's history.
